Track walkthrough "If I was alone" (Behind the scenes)

In this video, I take a look at the creative process behind our song, "If I was alone."

It started with a simple drum track recorded by Rob at home using an electronic drum kit and a Zoom recorder. We discovered that the metronome calibration on the Zoom was off, leading to a creative problem-solving session by Cliff, who recalibrated the beat so the drums aligned with the timeline in our DAW software.

We use only free and open-source tools like DAW Ardour and share those sessions on GitHub for collaboration, the band exchanges these ideas for songwriting through various branches and iterations in GitHub repositories.

Watch the video to see how the song evolved from its initial drum track to a full-fledged composition, incorporating bass lines, xylophone parts, and guitar riffs.
