Rain in purple frontiers (Live Tracking Music Video)
The video is live-tracking footage in the studio to recreate the song the way it sounds on the recorded release. One session shows us playing the song together, then another session of us playing other instruments - overdubbing guitar, sax, and extra keyboard lines. We tried out this method for a music video instead of just recording a lip-sync to the track.

Rain in purple frontiers is a heavy art-rock track that transforms a 2022 Twitch live stream we did into a textured, experimental rock song. Fusing a rhythmic breakdown of a Slayer beat and evolving into a dark atmospheric new wave of early 80s Peter Gabriel, the song features dual-layered bass, DADGAD-tuned guitars, and baritone sax. The lyrics follow a “Vagabond” character, trying to reconnect.

The video was made using only open-source recording software Ardour, KDENLive, and OBS on Ubuntu Studio, a computer operating system for musicians and artists.
