Dane 101 Article: Musicians work hard to build a fan base

I had a conversation last week with the online News/Music/Entertainment website Dane 101 for an article about what some musicians are doing to promote themselves these days. We discussed how we use the internet as the way of promoting our music, and the benefits of free downloadable music.

The article has insight from a number of bands and is an interesting look at to how some spend a great amount of time to get their music out there. From fan participation, touring or online promotion-- if you make music it's worth checking out.

You can read the full article here.

Lorenzo's Music Netcast - March 8, 2010

In this netcast: A song idea.

This is just a song idea Cliff, Mark and Tom started last week in the studio.

Mark and Cliff plugged into the board and came up with a nice bass and guitar line.

The video features mixed footage of Tom and Mark laying down percussion and vocal melody ideas to the track.

We'll see where the song goes from here.

Free Indie Music Compilation - netBloc Vol. 27: Straight Outta The FMA

Our Song "I'm Doing Fine" I'm Doing Fine by Lorenzo's Music from our album Solamente Tres Palabras is a featured track on Bloc Sonic's recent web album compilation netBloc Vol. 27: Straight Outta The FMA. This album features music from WFMU’s Free Music Archive.

Here is part of the post from Bloc Sonic:
"After a good three months of listening to thousands of FMA tracks, I somehow managed to whittle the selection down to 11 exceptional gems. It was really a difficult choice, but in the end the final line-up proves to be a terrific mix of Rock, Pop, Punk, Indie, Trip-Hop and even a splash of humor thrown in for good measure."
